Maker of the Month - Sarah's Silks
Drawing from the philosophies of Waldorf education and childhood imaginative play, Sarah’s Silks has been designing Playsilks and other natural, eco-friendly wooden and silk toys for over 29 years. Sarah’s Silks inspires the imagination of children around the world, through open-ended toys made from natural, earth friendly materials.
From the beginning, Sarah Silk's has prioritized a moral responsibility to the earth and its people. It has always been important to them that manufacturing process be sensitive to the environment, and that the people involved at every step of the process are treated with respect, receive a fair wage, and are not expected to work in uncomfortable or hazardous conditions.
They believe in radical transparency. Their Playcottons are grown with organic farming practices, hand-woven and hand-dyed with natural plant dyes, and sewn in Erode, India. Their Playsilks are produced on family farms and are hand-dyed and hemmed.

(Inside The Farmhouse) You can collect your toys in person, inspect them before you take them home, and save money by not having to pay for shipping.
